How it works

A slower kind of project.

Custom work runs a little longer than the collection pieces, usually six to ten weeks. Most of that time is in the planning. Once the brief is set, the build itself moves quickly.

  1. 01
    Photos or visit

Send pictures of the piece, the room, and anything you’d like it to sit with.

  2. 02
    Quote

A written quote with fabric allowance, frame work and timeline.

  3. 03
    Sample & sign-off

Fabric samples in hand before anything is cut. Nothing happens without a yes.

  4. 04
    Strip & rebuild

Old cover off, frame and webbing checked, padding renewed where it needs to be.

  5. 05
    Hand-finish

Re-cover, edge-pipe, hand-tack and check. Photographed before it leaves.

  6. 06
    Collection

Wrapped and ready for collection from the current studio in Hawke’s Bay. Delivery charges are estimated upfront and then quoted once final address is confirmed.

Good to know.

Frequently asked

A few things people often ask. If your question isn't here, send it through via email.

Will my frame survive a re-upholster?
Usually, yes. I’ll always tell you if a frame isn’t worth saving before quoting the rest.
How much fabric will I need?
Depends entirely on the piece. I’ll work this out as part of the quote, and always allow a generous margin for pattern-matching.
